Endotoxin Contamination of Apolipoprotein A-1

In a recent publication in the journal Atherosclerosis, scientists from the NIH used the EndoPrep technology to measure trace amounts of “masked” endotoxin in apolipoprotein A-1. This small amount of endotoxin was sufficient to inhibit macrophage proliferation and highlights the need for accurate endotoxin detection in protein samples.
