Bacteria are Out of This World!

A new study by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, using genetic analysis, have found that the International Space Station contains high levels of potentially pathogenic bacterial strains, when compared to clean rooms here on Earth. The elevated numbers are thought to be a result of the long-term, close-quarter conditions required for space travel and have great implications as we venture further away from Earth (possibly to Mars!).
